Plot's Engagement 2.0
SHIPPED
From June to September 2025, as a product design intern, I rebuilt Plot's core engagement feature, help social media marketers easily discover and interact with the right UGC content & creators.
the problem
Most clients feel overwhelmed
and don't know where to start…
After a few months rolling out Engagement 1.0, our product team identified a big problem: most of our users (social media managers) often feel overwhelmed when using the feature and find it difficult to get the feature's true value.

The current UI looks clean and organized.
Why users feel overwhelmed? Let's do some research.
List relevant content? Yes
Help user understand why it matter? Not yet
With the lack of emphasis on why each content being surfaced to the top, the list feel random and at first glance seem invaluable to make any initiate engagement.

the SOLUTION
Provide a personalized discovery,
Surface purposeful AI insights.
Instead of endlessly scrolling through videos, hashtags, and distractions, I designed “Today’s Top Posts”—a streamlined feature that helps users surface the most relevant content for their brand each day.
By answering just three simple questions, users can cut through the noise and immediately focus on what matters.

The strategy behind
surfacing Top 10 Posts
In marketing, timing is everything. The feature empowers teams to act on insights faster, giving Plot a competitive edge with a simple yet powerful way to filter the internet into daily, brand-specific priorities.
To further enhance the experience, I introduced a progress bar indicator. What once felt like an endless, unstructured task now becomes a clear, goal-oriented journey—keeping users motivated and confident as they complete the process.

REFLECTION & RESULTS
Optimize LLM & AI
resources to shape strategy
Learned how LLMs operate and how to design efficient pipelines by collaborating with engineers—key to shaping product strategy with limited resources.
Deliver design hand-offs
with precision
Clear, detailed specs—including edge cases—save engineers from guessing and ensure designs are built as intended.
Listen to the users,
they know what they want
Sitting in on client and team sessions taught me that impactful design comes directly from user feedback, not assumptions.
